Nanoscribe Training Course:
2PP for Optical Interconnects

Hands-on training course on 3D printed optical interconnects at our headquarters in Karlsruhe

We cordially invite the photonic integration community to join this training event with experts on Free Space Microoptical Coupling (FSMOC) for optical interconnects.

Why Attend?

Learn: how easily photonic coupling can be done with in-situ printed micro-optics.

  • A short introduction to the powerful Aligned 2-Photon Lithography (A2PL®) software and then printing using Two-Photon Grayscale Lithography (2GL®) for precise aligned printing of optics on fibers or dies (PIC)

Detect: automatically detect fiducials, fiber cores, waveguides, edges, emission angles, etc.

  • Down to 100 nm x-y detection accuracy on dies
  • Down to 500 nm fiber core detection accuracy
  • Up to +-10 µm reduced 1 db alignment tolerance with collimated coupling

Align: print high-precision, freeform 3D optics in optical quality (Ra < 10 nm).

  • High-quality optics printed with a position accuracy < 500 nm

Hands-on: live-printing of collimators, focusing lenses, periscopes on fiber for wafer-level testing, and even TIR or prisms to replace grating couplers.

  • Build your own 3D scene of a chip with waveguides, fiducials, and micro-optics with the nanoPrintX software
  • Print optical elements directly on fibers, fiber arrays or chips

Low-loss: interconnects offering XY alignment tolerances of many µm for pick & place while still reaching losses < 1dB.

  • Learn how to relax assembly tolerances through the use of Free Space Microoptical Coupling (FSMOC) while maintaining low loss connections

Use cases: quantum technology, Lidar, PIC, sensors, telecom, datacom, and more.

Description

A bus will pick you up on September 26th at the ECOC conference (Messe Frankfurt) at 8:30 AM and take you to the Nanoscribe Headquarters near Karlsruhe. After the training, which will conclude at 4:00 PM, a bus will return you to the ECOC around 6:00 PM.

During the visit, you'll experience the ease of use and printing capabilities of the Quantum X align. You'll also get a peek into recent Nanoscribe product developments. The day will also include extensive Q&A sessions and opportunities to exchange best practices. Additionally, you'll have the chance to engage with Nanoscribe's photonic packaging experts, where you can address your questions, wishes, and concerns. This event will also provide valuable networking and collaboration opportunities.
