Small series production by 3D Microfabrication at Formnext

Rapid and high-precision small series production of mechanical components. Each part was printed in 5 minutes.

At Formnext 2019, Nanoscribe presented a variety of 3D microprinting capabilities. With its new 3D Microfabrication Solution Set Large Features, the company is targeting cost-effective small series production of high-precision components on the millimeter scale.

Last week, the additive manufacturing industry had its eyes on Frankfurt am Main. At Formnext, the leading additive manufacturing conference and trade fair, Nanoscribe showcased a variety of exhibits from additive nano, micro and mesoscale fabrication. One of the main topics Nanoscribe showed in Frankfurt was a complete production chain for microoptics using replication methods. A second highlight was the new 3D Microfabrication Solution Set Large Features, which facilitates rapid series production of millimeter-sized elements.

Zoom into small series production of mesoscale parts

Visitors were particularly fascinated by the mesoscale objects in the millimeter range. Using an interactive display, they could zoom into the tiny components to examine the extremely high precision of Nanoscribe’s 3D Microfabrication. Many different applications benefit from this, because even structures with a high aspect ratio or particularly complex micromechanical elements can be produced by 3D Microfabrication. With the Photonic Professional GT2 3D printer millimeter-sized parts are printed in shortest time. This shortens the design-to-protoype time and accelerates rapid prototyping of precision components. For example, mechanical components with a diameter of 1 millimeter were presented at Formnext, which were printed in 5 minutes each.

High-resolution 3D printing at Formnext

It is a wonderful experience to follow the rapid progress of the 3D printing market in such a condensed way. At Formnext, the special market of high-resolution additive manufacturing is now forming. A growing community of manufacturers shows versatile solutions and demonstrates that highest precision with a resolution in the nanometer and micrometer range can also be integrated into industrial process steps. With the Photonic Professional GT2 and the 3D Microfabrication Solution Sets, Nanoscribe offers versatile and cost-effective solutions that attracted enormous interest in Frankfurt. Thank you very much for coming to our booth and for the really fruitful discussions.
