Nanoscribe, a leading provider of high-precision 3D printing solutions, recently signed a purchase agreement with Printoptix, a University of Stuttgart spin-off and recognized specialist in additively manufactured microoptics. The agreement centers on the purchase of Nanoscribe's state-of-the-art Quantum X align system, which features its advanced A2PL® technology and nanoPrintX software. This purchase demonstrates Printoptix's continued confidence in Nanoscribe's innovative potential and underscores the mutually beneficial relationship between the two pioneering companies.

It was an appointment with exceptionally good-humored participants. At Nanoscribe's Microfabrication Experience Center, the purchase agreement was signed for a Quantum X align, the best-in-class 3D printer equipped with Aligned 2-Photon Lithography A2PL® for nanoprecise fabrication on optical fibers and photonic chips, and nanoPrintX, software that opens up entirely new opportunities for aligned 3D printing. As such an investment requires careful consideration, it is all the more remarkable that both parties are so enthusiastic about the productive momentum of this investment and the partnership it represents.

Aligned 2-Photon Lithography A2PL® technology

It enables the fabrication of miniaturized optical components with nanoscale features that deliver superior optical performance and push the boundaries of what was previously achievable.

nanoPrintX unlocks the core capabilities of Aligned 2-Photon Lithography (A2PL®) technology for printing with Quantum X align. Individual alignment markers can be defined as well as substrate features such as chip edges and fiber facets. Using Quantum X align's confocal or fiber illumination unit, these substrate markers can be detected and matched to the digital model defined with nanoPrintX. Thus, for example, freeform or compound microoptics can be printed with submicron accuracy and precisely aligned to the optical axes of fibers or photonic chips.
